Notes: #454 was one of numerous F-16s that were originally built for Pakistan. Due to political reasons, they were embargoed and stored at AMARC for over 10 years. Edwards received nine of these "new" aircraft for test ops., in 2003.

Notes: Two T-38s from the AFFTC pool make a low pass over the field. This is a good comparison between the C and A models. Some sort of pod can be seen under the second ship.

Notes: Edwards newest "Trout" VIP/test aircraft is seen sitting on the ramp. This aircraft replaced C-135C #61-2669 in 2006.


Subject: RQ-4A - 412th TW 452nd FLTS - Serial #98-2003 (UAV-3)
Location: Edwards AFB, CA
Date: 2/20/2006

Notes: #003 wearing a "BB" code returns to Edwards after spending three years in the Middle East. 249 sorties were flown, 191 of which were noted as being combat missions. Note the mission marks on the side of the aircraft.

Notes: The Proteus aircraft is pictured over Mojave carrying what looks to be a side-scan radar payload.

Notes: BAE's test pilot takes off from Mojave in Phantom #484, which had recently been converted into a drone for the 82nd ATRS.

Notes: #484 went to AMARC 10/90 and was stored there until being brought to BAE for drone conversion into AF300.


Subject: F-5B - Eye of the Tiger (EoT) Norwegian AF - #243

Notes: #243 is seen on approach to NAS Point Mugu, during a US deployment to test a new anti-ship missile for the Norwegian AF. Note the back seat packed with test equipment.

Notes: This Sabre is used in radar flight test with BAE. Note the fighter aircraft radome graphed onto the nose.

Notes: Boeing's answer to Airborne Early Warning and Control for the Royal Australian AF. 358BJ was the second of six Wedgetails ordered.


Subject: QF-4E - BAE Systems - Serial #68-0354

Notes: Originally with the 35th TF, #354 was sent to AMARC as FP0449 on 2/22/90. After being sent to Mojave for drone conversion, it's seen here landing after a BAE test flight, still wearing much of its original green camo scheme.

Notes: A rare catch of one of the Bloodhound Hornets while landing back at Point Mugu. Note the 'Dogs' logo on the inner stabs.

Notes: #300 is one of the P-3Cs that have replaced VX-30's "billboard" P-3Ds. It was originally used at Pax River in "Project Magnet" as RP-3D #227, nicknamed "Paisano Tres" (Friend No 3), and wore the red and white Pax scheme.

Notes: Owned by L-3, Metroliner #784 is one of a few utilized by VX-30 and VX-31 on daily shuttle flights, between local destinations on the NavAir ranges.

Notes: This bumpy aircraft is the Northrop-Grumman "BAMS" test bed, which stands for Broad Area Maritime Surveillance. Note the "Navy BAMS" tail logo.
